Teach Every African Child is a well-managed endowment that aims to improve the potential of learners at select schools by injecting money into infrastructural improvements. The improved conditions contribute greatly to the motivation of both pupils and teachers at these institutions.
Tshebedisano primary school and Batsogile primary in Soweto both were enhanced by projects such as the LeadSA Mandela day schools project. The TEACH fund also functions to ensure the maintenance of the corporate sponsorship pledged in July 2012.
By providing aid to schools that are historically disadvantaged, the Star hopes to improve the lives of the pupils and their prospects later through financial support. In 2013, the fund will be rolling out a number of container classrooms around Gauteng. The fully functioning units will be handed over complete with teachers and teaching aids by the department of education to recipient schools they have identified.
The project aims to counter the ever-increasing number of school-going pupils in the province and the consequent over-crowding in classrooms and donors are urged to partner with us in this exciting education initiative.
